A flexible material for thermal resistance, bubble insulation is often referred to as bubble wrap foil insulation. The following are some salient features of bubble insulation:
1. Construction:
Encapsulated air bubbles are pushed between one or two layers of foil to create bubble insulation. It lowers radiant heat by functioning as a radiant barrier. It offers warmth in the winter and maintains areas cool in the summer.
2. Different Bubble Insulation Types:
- Aerolam Super PE: Consists of a single sheet of air bubble film that is fire-resistant and laminated with white poly on one side and aluminum foil on another.
- Aerolam Super: Consists of a single layer of pure aluminum foil laminated on both sides over a fire-retardant air bubble film.
- Aerolam Premium: Consists of two layers of pure aluminum foil laminated on both sides over two layers of fire-retardant polyethylene air bubble film.
- Aerolam Advance: Consists of a single layer of aluminum foil-laminated, fire-retardant large bubble (10 mm in thickness and 30 mm in diameter).
Aerolam Optimum: Consists of two layers of aluminum foil-laminated, fire-retardant large bubbles (10 mm in thickness and 30 mm in diameter).
- Aerolam Unique: A hybrid sheet laminated with aluminum foil on both sides, consisting of an XLPE (cross-linked polyethylene) layer and an air bubble film layer.
- Aerolam Ultra: An additional hybrid sheet laminated with aluminum foil on both sides, consisting of one XLPE layer and two layers of air bubble film.
3. Benefits of Ultra Over Air Bubble Insulation, which is Unique:
- XLPE Layer: By increasing temperature reduction, the inclusion of XLPE (cross-linked polyethylene) improves overall performance.
- Excellent Thermal Conductivity: At 23°C, XLPE exhibits a thermal conductivity of 0.0329 W/m·K.
- Broad Temperature Range: -40°C to +115°C is suitable.
- Resistance to Moisture and Fungi: Over time, XLPE retains its thermal qualities in the presence of moderate acids, alkalis, and moisture.
